Looking at the big picture
One of the things that puts me in a somewhat difficult situation re: Project E is the fact that I'm not sure about publication prospects.
Generally I have an overwhelming optimism regarding whether my current story will be published (assuming I finish it to my own personal satisfaction), but not so much with Project E. Mostly because it's very not mainstream (a romance scifi cyberpunk-ish kind of psychological thriller with social commentary, but is too asexual to attract the erotica crowd, has too much R-rated language to be marketed as YA, and is too depressing/intensely psychological to be a fun beach read).
If I can't get Project E published traditionally, I will definitely self-publish it and see how that goes. However, I don't expect to be able to make much money off a self-published book, which means I kind of have to be thinking about the next novel project beyond Project E. Probably one that had to be at least *slightly* more mainstream, somehow.
