Rambles...
May. 23rd, 2011 05:02 pmAhh, Massachusetts. Where would we be without the rain and the cold and the gray skies in the middle of May?
Anyhow. I'm trying to read the ever-famous Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and so far I'm not having much luck getting through it (unlike The Lost Hero, which I blazed through in one sitting, and The Soul Mirror, which I also could not put down). I've never been a huge fan of DysLit--I read 1984 (of course) and a book in the Pendragon series that talked about a dystopia where people fought to the death in the Games (sound familiar?). In other words, I've read enough DysLit that the premise alone is not going to hook me. Plus, nothing really is happening in the first few pages, and the narrator, Katniss, is so far kind of boring.
Well, for once, I'll try reading through the entire book before I put it down. It's got to be popular for a reason (although I remembered thinking that about Twilight at one point...).
