Just saw the raws for Trinity Blood, Ch. 58.

Cut for spoilers for the Throne of Roses arc )

I also finally got caught up on all the scanlated chapters (my impression was that the manga had been hanging in untranslated limbo for a while, due to scanlation groups picking up and then dropping TB). Gotta say, I loved the Abel/Cain flashback scene in the manga. It was pretty brilliant in terms of showing the kind of person Abel used to be.

Watched the first 4 episodes of Blue Exorcist today.

Admittedly, I'm a sucker for Tomato in the Mirror protagonists, so I fell for the premise hook, line and sinker. I'm also a total sucker for stories that focus on sibling relationships. So yeah.

That said, Blue Exorcist was a little too moe for my tastes. Cut for minor spoilers )

Also, I was a little disappointed Rin and Yukio's relationship wasn't taken further. I didn't really get a sense of genuine emotion from their bond, apart from the way Yukio acts like a mother hen around Rin. Even their fight in Episode 3 didn't do it for me. (Although I have to say I feel sorry for poor Rin--it sucks to have your younger sibling outgrow and outclass you. Even though they're twins...wait...)

I usually dislike Magical School stories (i.e. Soul Eater), which it looks like Blue Exorcist is, so I'm not sure if I'll be interested in watching further. But who knows.

...ARGH HAVE TO GO FINISH MY FINALS NOW T_T

Okay, maybe I shouldn't be asking this, because the last thing I need is another obsession...

But I'm genuinely curious as to what the mass appeal of Durarara!! is. After watching a few episodes, I still prefer Baccano!.

So, sell Durarara!! to me. Anyone.

Wikipedia?

I was Wikipedia'ing Durarara!! and I came across this in the episode summaries:

"Izaya believes in the myth that by starting a war and coming out as the hero/victor, the Dullahan will send him to Valhalla."

x_x

Is this real, or fake? Tell me it's fake... Dullahan and Valhalla don't even belong to the same mythology!

Was awesome.

I loved the VGO concert (but whyyyy was the Hetalia panel during the same time? ;_;), seeing the Artist's Alley and the Dealer's Room, watching my sister chase down cosplayers for photos, and watching the first hour of cosplay chess--but I nearly threw a fit when I found out our group decided to leave Boston at 11:30 in the morning on Sunday (I wasn't part of this decision). I was like, "WHAT? BUT I CAN'T EVEN FINISH WATCHING COSPLAY CHESS OR THE CLOSING CEREMONIES AND WE DROVE ALL THE WAY HERE ANYWAYS GRAAAARRRR YOU ARE ALL LOSERS" D<

But yeah, otherwise, it was really fun. :D

Hmm...

I watched the first few episodes of Baccano! yesterday at Anime Club, and I liked the out-of-order storytelling and the refreshingly unique setting in Great Depression-era America (although wasn't the California Gold Rush during the antebellum period? O.o).

And then I found out that Durarara!, the Next Big Thing in anime right now, was written by the same author.

Hmm.
