Return of the Wordcount (6/25/11)
Jun. 25th, 2011 09:45 pmFor the first time in my life, my mom's been like, "Use the summer to hurry up and finish your book!"
...Of course, she also went and blabbed about it to everyone who would listen, and now half the neighborhood plus some other people want to read it when I'm done. XP
Artist of the Heart: 93 pages / 45,000 words
Almost at 100 pages & 50,000 words! Whoo!
Actually, I have a feeling that this wordcount might go down in the near future. My sister pointed out some major issues, plus I have to rework/delete a couple of scenes.
I'm still not sure how long the story is going to be, thanks to the fact that I'm writing it out of order. Right now I'm predicting that I'll finish the "first" draft at 55,000-60,000 words, but considering that I always skimp on description in the rough draft, the final wordcount (final before beta reading) might be as high as 70,000 words. That's probably pushing it a little, though.
My personal deadline is still set for the end of July. I'm also looking forward to moving on to writing the Empty King trilogy afterwards.
