EK, Part I: 82 pages / 40,000 words (draft 1.5)
Snow Queen retelling: 43 pages / 22,000 words (second draft)
Yup.
So one of the two Roman POV characters for The Son of Neptune was revealed recently, and I'm so super excited! Especially since he's Asian! (Asian pride~*smacked*) Just kidding. But I really do love how ethnically diverse Rick Riordan's stories always are, and the best part is, his characters are never token minorities, just there for the sake of "diversity"; they always feel real, and like any other American teenaged main character, but with a different texture in their background.
Anyhow, Piper (Cherokee) was cool, and Leo (Hispanic) was totally awesome, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what Riordan's going to do with Frank Zhang! And I can't wait to read The Son of Neptune!
(And today I learned that Zhang 张 means "master of bows," which I did not know before, so yay for learning!)
