1. Rapiers are actually the same weight as longswords--no, really! They're also not as fast as they are in popular culture. In fact, longswords are faster. Therefore, saying someone has a "rapier-like wit" would technically be an insult.
2. Sharks usually don't eat people! Gasp! It's because humans are not very nutricious. Great whites usually take a bite out of a surfer to determine whether he/she is food, decide humans taste yucky, and spit it out again. Granted, losing a limb isn't a particularly good thing, and if the sharkbite severs an artery, that person is probably dead anyway.
