RF: 27,000 words / 53 pages
I'm optimistic about being able to finish the first draft of RF as soon as I'm done with my final final paper. Yeah, the first draft is going to be short, probably between 30-35k words; the whole story in general will probably be pretty short, unless I get lots of ideas during the beta editing process.
In terms of second-draft edits for RF, I'll mostly be concerned with story consistency and figuring out a way to give some minor characters more screentime, which is where subplots and expansion might come in. Oh, and fleshing out descriptions, as usual. But otherwise, no major overhaul needed, which is a huge relief.
