Elementary - Pilot

I saw the Elementary Pilot.

My thoughts:

I'd say it was good, though not great. BBC's Sherlock, though certainly with some issues, had something "magical" about it, particularly in the way it handled the Sherlock Scan. Elementary's Sherlock Holmes seems less of a Sherlock Scan whiz and more of someone who just pays a lot of attention.

I did like the relationship between Watson and Holmes, and I think it would be very interesting if the central mystery of the series is what happened to Sherlock Holmes before the story started.

Anyone else think that Whatever Happened to Sherlock Holmes involved Irene Adler??

Can we take a moment to realize how illogical this entire sequence is:

- I'm pretty sure that Nilin should have died twenty times over. No one could have been shot at that directly and avoided any kind of injury whatsoever.
- No one could have shot up a city like that without the police intervening.

Rule of Cool applies here, I guess. Sigh.

PS: The running animationg is quite unnatural, and Nilin seems like she weighs nothing. Is it that hard for video game devs to include the sound of footsteps?

(Also, this is a little thing that bothers me: If this takes place in Neo-Paris, why does Nilin have an Australian accent?)
