TMNT fan project status
Jun. 25th, 2013 06:48 pmYup. Remember that maybe-fancomic thing I mentioned a few entries ago? Well...
I mentioned that I'd commit myself to this project if I could finish the script. I've been working on the script steadily over the past couple of days; it's now over 20 pages and, based on the tentative chapter outline I wrote, about 1/5 finished (rough draft, of course). If this continues, I might be able to have a (gasp) complete script by the end of July! Which is crazy!
I've also been doing a lot of doodles and practice drawings for the project. If I do manage to finish the rough draft of the script, I'd have to allow for at least a month of editing and refining, and I'll also have to get cracking on character designs for Splinter, Shredder, Karai, April, Casey, and a bunch of other characters, so that'd be a lot more work to do. (Designs for the turtles were finished a while ago here.) Not to mention I'm really, really rusty with paneling.
(The one good thing about drawing a fancomic, though, is that I'm under no pressure to create amazing art, since I don't have to sell it. :P)
But the script's organized on a per-page basis, so I think it'd be easy to draw from, plus I've been trying to envision the pages as I write the script, which means this project might actually be doable! But I should probably stop counting my eggs before they hatch. :/
(Also, I'm starting to get worried that the script might grow to insane proportions, just because there's so much potential in this idea, even though I want to keep this project to a manageable size. OTL)
