Okay, so Ven ISN'T a Sora clone after all (which solves the problem of how he could be a Sora clone if he's older than Sora). Basically, Ven was a normal kid who got his heart split in half by Master Xehanort, and *somehow* Sora helped him patch it up.
Well, in one way I'm relieved (there really were enough Sora clones in the series as it is), but in another way, this opens up a whole new flood of questions. Why does Vanitas look like Sora? How did Sora fix Ven's heart at the beginning? (Does this mean Sora is some special Chosen One because of his power to reconnect? Ugh. I hope not...) If Ven isn't part of Sora, how come he "goes to sleep" in Sora's heart at the end? I suppose Ven's presence in Sora's heart explains Roxas's appearance, but even so, the logistics are a bit confusing.
@_@
The moral of the story: Don't get sucked into the Kingdom Hearts fandom until after it finishes (which I hope it does in KH3). You'll lose too many brain cells trying to figure out the plot.
