IDW: Jem and the Holograms
Why Do I Read This: The Wicked + the Divine
Near future adds: DC Bombshells, Cyborg, Batman and Robin Eternal, Lucifer, Batman/TMNT, Scarlet Witch (?), [other new Vertigo stuff??]
Temporary/on the fence:
- Wonder Woman (DC): I think I'll read this for a while to figure out what's going to happen to Donna Troy.
- Earth 2: Society (DC): Not sure where this is going.
- Aquaman (DC): Depending on what's happening between Arthur and Mera. If they've permanently separated, I'm quitting.
- A-Force (Marvel): I didn't like the first issue, so I'm debating with myself about whether to keep following or not.
- Secret Wars 2099 (Marvel): This is a mini-series, right? Can't say I've been enjoying it a lot so far, but if it's a mini, I'll stick around until it ends.
- Runaways (Marvel): Also just reading this mini-series until it's over.
Maybes:
- Ultimates / New Avengers: Both of these series have characters I like, but I'm not familiar with most of the members of the teams, so I don't know, I might end up skipping out.
Other comments:
Of the Marvel comics I'm currently following, I only really enjoy Ms. Marvel and Loki: Agent of Asgard. I'll continue to follow Thor, Spider-Gwen, and Silk, but I haven't been super thrilled with them so far. I'm dropping Inhuman (the only way I'll pick it back up again is if they explain what happened to Medusa and Black Bolt's son). I'm intrigued by Cloak and Dagger and Bucky Barnes in the new Runaways, but other than that, I'm also not a huge fan.
On the flip side, I've been really pleased most of the new DC series, and I'm also psyched for the upcoming DC Bombshells! The only disappointments from DC's new initiative for me are Arthur and Mera splitting up in Aquaman ( :((((((( ) and uncertainty about Earth 2: Society (because I did like Earth 2 a lot until the cringeworthy Future's End/Apokalips War arc, so it's sad to let it go, but I feel like it might not be for me anymore, especially since the focus seems to have shifted away from the original team of Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, The Flash, and Dr. Fate).
