Writer rambles

Right now I'm at the stage at which all I can think is "Everything I write is GARBAGE and everything is terrible."
Regarding my current story (which I'll call Project E for the time being), I've been working on it out of order so far (and I even have the ending written, because I'm a doofus), but I think it's time to sit down and start working on it chronologically, because I'm starting to lose track of later plot threads/character development, and I also think it'll be useful to just calm the hell down and think about how to get the characters from point A to point B, and after that, from point B to point C, etc.
Note to self: I am never going to write about an assassin who has to deal with the morality of what they've done again, because the ethical problems are just way too complicated and mind-twisting to explore. There are ways around the issue, such as making the assassin a would-be assassin who hasn't killed anyone yet, or making it so that the assassin only killed criminals, but personally I feel like such avenues are "cheating," since they allow the author to have a so-called badass cool killing machine protagonist and yet be able to portray said protagonist as a "good guy." (It reminds me of the City Fall arc in the IDW TMNT series, where Leo was brainwashed into being "evil" but the plot conspired to intervene just so he never ended up killing anyone while he was tripping on the dark side, and I rolled my eyes so hard.)
I really thought I could finish this novel quickly...
