GW2 Sylvari Revenant plans

Okay, I think I've finally committed to making a Revenant—solely because I've always wanted a heavy armor-class Sylvari so I can deck her out in T3 cultural armor, but I dislike Warrior and I've waffled on whether or not to make a 2nd Guardian.
I mean, look at this majesty. The colors are a bit wonky in the screenshot, but trust me, it looks even more vibrant in reality. (The dye set I'm previewing is Enameled Sky, Midnight Sky, and Glint's Purview, by the way.)
Of course, T3 cultural armor will cost me a pretty penny, and I'll also have to level up a Revenant to 80. I'm trying very hard to resist the urge to just tome-level to 80 out of laziness (my reasoning being that I'll have to collect a boatload of Hero Points from Central Tyria anyway, so I might as well hybrid-level using tomes and doing Hero Challenges/the personal story to conserve on Tomes of Knowledge), but I find Revenant gameplay (without Herald) pretty darn dull, so it's kind of a challenge.
And then, once I reach 80, I'll have to crunch HoT Hero Points again for Herald, and also do the collection for Glint's Bastion (because that shield is so damn cool)...sigh.
[*EDIT: Oh wow, I just learned that you can purchase cultural armor using Badges of Honor for half the gold cost. Hooray, I won't have to bankrupt myself buying cultural armor!!]
.
Other ramblings:
- I've been making a lot of money from doing the dailies, well, daily for the sake of the Season of Merriment achievement, so that's cool. I'm going to miss being able to get the daily done so easily when Wintersday finishes. :(
- I feel like doing the Machined weapons collection is going to be more doable than the Auric weapons collection. My main problem with the Auric weapons isn't farming Auric Ingots or Linseed Oil; it's that you can only use a few inscriptions to make the weapons if you're crafting them—and of course they're all the impossible-to-drop, expensive-to-buy AND expensive-to-make inscriptions. (5 Orichalcum Plated Dowels each is a LOT of Ancient Wood to farm; 5 ectos each = are you kidding me.) Sigh.
By contrast, the Machined weapons collection just requires a lot of Reclaimed Plates (so, farming Verdant Brink bosses for like a month) and RNG with those components that drop from Noxious Pods. Time consuming, annoying perhaps, but not expensive.
