I feel like I'm going to fall off my 5k words a week target. I was going to try to get to 30k total before dropping to maybe 2k words a week, but I feel like I'm slowing down a bit—partly because eye strain means I'm not working on it during the weekdays anymore, and partly because I'm at the point at which I'm starting to link the scenes together. 30k seems like the likely total for the first draft to me, though maybe I'll end up expanding it a lot during the editing process (the most I've ever expanded a book after the first draft was from 38k to 52k words).
Also, I'm aiming to try to finish my revisions for Novel #3 tomorrow, so really not sure if I'll be able to draft another 2-3k words for this book this weekend. But, on the plus side, I'm leaning towards taking the week of Thanksgiving off from work, so maybe I'll be able to get a lot done then?
