College ahoy!

(Why yes, I am relentlessly spamming every online journal I have access to...)
So yeah, tomorrow I leave for college. I'm excited, but also more than a little nervous. I am, after all, going to a college with a high academic reputation. I'm a little scared I'll get bombarded with essays and presentations, but above all I'm scared of participating during class.
Y'see, participation has always been my weakest point. I'm a shy person by nature, and usually my mind draws a blank during class in terms of things to say. (Not that I don't pay attention, mind you. I'm usually busy scribbling notes and listening intently.) The college I'm going to go to is small, which is a blessing, but...argh, I can't let go of this fear!
Re: the workload--I'm not afraid of a lot of work, but I have some personal projects that I want to accomplish on the side (which are looking less and less likely by the minute). I want to do artwork on a semi-regular basis, and I want to teach myself another language (such as Finnish, though I'm waffling between that and Norwegian, which is much, much easier to pick up). I'm also wondering about taking Japanese in college, which I know I would like to do, but I'm wondering if I should take it my first year or second year. (I calculated that even if I start my second year, I'd still have enough credits if I wanted to study abroad in Japan.)
Eek, there's so much I can't decide...
Anyways, off to college! (gulp)
